The last couple of weeks have delivered a plethora of e-health and digital economy news so take the weight off your feet and check out the latest in today's edition.

A few highlights include:
+ Council of Australian Governments reached in principle agreement on legislation to establish the National Health Performance Authority as the next stage of national health reform.

+ The second of the PCEHR pillars - the tender to provide oversight of the project and independent advice on progress - was awarded to Ernst & Young.

+ As the period for comments on the PCEHR Concept of Operations document closed, NEHTA's boss, Peter Fleming fronted Senate Estimates, and Australia's Digital Economy Strategy - #au20 - was released by Senator Stephen Conroy.

+ Medibank Private is tasked to deliver the after hours GP web and phone hotline that will run in conjunction with Medicare Locals - the first of which will operate from July 1.

+ Significant incentives promised for medical practitioners to carry out online health consultations.

CHIK constantly monitors for signs of significant gear shifts? this week's is the number of people moving back into the e-health area citing national agenda traction.

It is a sign of exciting times to come, so if you don't already have your skates on then get them out of the cupboard and give them a polish up.

Cheers
